SPRT 09.201 Introduction to Esports
Introduction to Esports is a foundational course for students interested in learning the language, history, and culture of the esports industry and entertainment experience. It is the prerequisite for students completing the CUGS in Esports. The class covers the historical development of several of the most popular esports games as well as the cultural and economic implications of those games in the videogame industry.

ESBN 03.250 Esports Operations and Strategy
This course will examine the flow of money throughout the esports ecosystem with a more in-depth focus on the perspective of esports team organizations and how they operate within the space. Particular attention will be given to operational decisions regarding contractual obligations, globalization, ethics, and general business strategies.

ESBN 03.280 Esports Funding and Financial Management
This course will analyze the various sources of funding available to esports organizations and walk through the process of raising capital including preparing business plans, financial projections, and relevant valuation concepts. Potential risks and organizational control related to types of financing will be considered.

This course will focus on business development in the context of the esports industry with an emphasis on the largest revenue streams for esports organizations, sponsorships and advertisement deals. Examples of the traditional and non-traditional promotional strategies and techniques currently used in esports will be studied.

This course will explore the role of data and data analytics in the professional esports industry and evaluate various esports data sources and metrics. Analytical methods and concepts such as statistics, predictive modeling, and data visualization will be demonstrated using different tools to help inform decisions.
